Quintessence
Quintessence is the fourth design of my series ‘By the Sea’. Cozy, easy to wear, simple with a twist and some unexpected details, perfect to knit and to wear during long winter nights. And days. Allying comfort, timeless elegance and interest.
Available in nine sizes, from 80 to 162cm / 31,75 to 63,75in. Please see the schematics for more details about final dimensions.
The pattern contains directions for three silhouettes (boxy, hourglass and reverse hourglass) and three collar variants (crewneck, mock turtleneck and a combination of both). The cable pattern is only charted.
For the moment, only available as pdf knitting pattern. Designed and photographed in Wild Wool, yarn by Erika Knight, suitable for worsted weight wool blends.

Studio notes

'If your intention, your desire is to take out every little bit that you can from the situation: your work won't last. But if your inner desire is to put in more than you can take out: your work will last. You're giving what you can, and taking what comes. It has nothing to do with exploitation.'(Sean Scully, 'Inner')

'Our work is to show we have been breathed upon - to show it, give it out, sing it out, to live out in the topside world what we have received through our sudden knowings, from body, for dreams and journeys of all sorts.'
(Clarissa Pinkola Estés, PhD - 'Women who run with the wolves')

'I'll tell you right now, the doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is the door, if you have an old, old story, that is the door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is the door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, this is the door.'
